Independence Day.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?”  Romans 8:31

For citizens of the United States of America, this is a special year for us as we celebrate our 250th Independence Day.  We enjoy and hold precious the freedom from the oppression that was upon the lives of our ancestors from a foreign country.  It seems that within the past decade, there have been an increasing number of people within our borders who don’t appreciate that freedom.  I saw an interview recently with a woman from Germany who was here for a World Cup Soccer game and was asked how she was finding our country.  She replied, “If you hate America; watch the news.  If you love America; visit the working people.”

As believers, we celebrate every day the priceless freedom which was sacrificially given to us through the precious blood of Jesus Christ on the Calvary cross two thousand years ago.  And although we celebrated that empty tomb in our House of Worship just months ago, we need to do it again; Christ is RISEN!!!  HE is Risen Indeed!!!  ALL of us need to celebrate what our God has done for us and our country.  If God is for us, who IS standing against.  How blessed we are living here and being loved, comforted and blessed by our Triune God.  The four children in the attached photo are celebrating the lunch provided by their Savior; Jesus.  Christ is RISEN!!!  HE is Risen Indeed!!!

Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you,

Jay
