Problems with this world.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.  Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.  One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.  Psalm 27:1-4

How often do you stop and look at what is going on in this world and ask yourself “what the heck is going on here?”  Professional athletes and team owners bickering over how to split up billions of dollars; BILLIONS of dollars.  The learned of this sinful world tell us that icebergs are melting faster than ever before recorded.  People with and without foreign passports are coming into our country to vote, receive financial support and some will kill us with weapons that our country sold to their country.  There’s more, but not going down that path today.

To the small child in the attached photo, none of the news in the above paragraph is news to her.  The most important news to her is that she has a friend in Jesus who defeated the vodou priest down the street; even though he will not acknowledge that truth.  What matters to her is that she is saved, has a home in Heaven and gets a noon meal at her school in Cap Haitian.  Tomorrow may be her moment in time to share the news of her Savior without another friend in her neighborhood who still lives in fear.  Thank you for helping to prepare her for this moment on her journey.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you,

Jay
