“My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9
I can’t stop thinking about Keith Logan and his trip to the Island of Gonave in Haiti recently and his ‘goals’ that were what we now know, were much too low by God’s abilities. And while thinking about that, I came across this photo of a bunch of kids from Thomassique who were holding up sticks cause they knew that God would bless them with a Trinity HOPE feeding program; one day.
This group of school children had been praying and bringing wood to use to cook food at their school for many, many months and they knew that God was going to answer their prayers. Your blessings came through God and today they see smoke from their cook fire and they shout “Beni soit L’Eternal!” as they smell smoke and lunch; prayers answered.
Sometimes, our prayer requests are way too small. I recently read this that seems to be very wise; “The person who succeeds is not the one who holds back, fearing failure, nor the one who never fails…but rather the one who moves on in spite of failure.” Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. The faith of those kids holding up their sticks brought them food in HIS time.
A quote by President Teddy Roosevelt says, “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
Keith Logan followed God’s nudge and traveled to the Island of Gonave with hope to find 8 schools to start a feeding program and God gave him 84 and now Trinity HOPE is seeking donors to support these schools.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, great accomplishments are often attempted but only occasionally reached. What is interesting and really very encouraging, is that those who reach them are usually those who missed many times before. Failures, you see, are only temporary tests to prepare us for permanent triumphs. Always, aim high. God is able!
Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
May God be with you…Jay
