Why do we suffer?

“This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Listen! I am going to bring a disaster on this place that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle.  For they have forsaken me and made this a place of foreign gods; they have burned incense in it to gods that neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah ever knew, and they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.  They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal; something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind.  So beware, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when people will no longer call this place Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.”  Jeremiah 19:2-6

I don’t know how many times people ask why Haiti has suffered so much for so long?  The simple answer is ‘Sin’.  We are sinful too in ways that are North American.  When you read about Haitian governments, consider that in the Presidential Palace in Port-au-Prince, Papa Doc, Baby Doc and perhaps the majority of the Haitian Presidents have called the vodou priests to come into their midst and make sacrifices; animal and human.  The attached photo from the internet reveals a pre and post-quake look at the Palace.

Children attending Christian schools in Haiti are the future generation of Haiti who will prayerfully bring devil worship to an end in Haiti.  Children in Trinity/HOPE feeding programs are growing spiritually and physically and are being prepared to fight the battle against the evil foe in Haiti.  Your daily prayers and financial support are so very important to their ministry.

Dear Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you…Jay
