How often do you stop and look at what is going on in this world and ask yourself “what the heck is going on here?” Professional football and basketball players, and team owners are bickering over how to split up billions of dollars; BILLIONS of dollars. Icebergs are melting faster than ever before recorded. People with and without foreign passports are coming into our country to kill us with weapons that our country sold to their country. Our country chooses just two people from mainstream parties to run for President of the free world and it takes a panel of five to judge fifty contestants to serve as Miss America for a one year term. Stop the madness.
To the small child in the attached photo, none of the news in the above paragraph is news to her. The most important news to her is that she has a friend in Jesus who defeated the vodou priest down the street; even though he will not acknowledge that truth. What matters to her is that she is saved, has a home in Heaven and gets a noon meal at her school in Cap Haitian. Tomorrow may be her moment in time to share the news of her Savior with another friend in her neighborhood who still lives in fear. Thank you for helping to prepare her for this moment on her journey. “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Dear Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
