“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” Ephesians 1:3
Do you feel blessed? I have a friend that almost always answers the ‘how are you’ greeting with two words “richly blessed”. How often do you feel blessed throughout your day? I did a search of the word ‘blessed’ on Bible Gateway and it appears 217 in the Bible. The attached photo is of the two girls from Bois Marchand that I shared yesterday; different camera, different angle but please believe me, they are richly blessed. The vodou priest tells them they are worthless, how could anybody love them and their Heavenly Father assures them they are His children, special and He loves them dearly. The vodou priest doesn’t teach them anythingbut fear me for I am very powerful and their Heavenly Father provides them with a school where they learn about reading, writing and arithmetic and introduces them to His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The vodou priest doesn’t provide them with food but requires his followers to give him food, drink and money. Their Heavenly Father has made it possible for Trinity/HOPE to work with their school to provide them a meal every day because He loves them; they are truly blessed. Sometimes, we realize that life is not all about me and we discover that being a blessing to somebody else is such a wonderful blessing to us. Volunteering for Trinity/HOPE and being a school sponsor has been such a wonderful blessing for me and caused me to feel ‘richly blessed’. Do you feel blessed? I am closing today with the words from the last verse of the ‘Blessings’ song that were written by Laura Story.
“When friends betray us, when darkness seems to win we know that pain reminds this heart that this is not, this is not our home; it's not our home. 'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops? What if Your healing comes through tears and what if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near? What if my greatest disappointments or the achings of this life is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy and what if trials of this life; the rain, the storms, the hardest nights are Your mercies in disguise?”
Dear Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
May God be with you…Jay
