History

Trinity/HOPE was founded by John Hall in 1999 as a result of a mission trip to Haiti. John tells the story best - we've paraphrased it below:

During an initial mission trip to Haiti, three schools were visited. At the first and last schools the students were excited to see the missionaries; they smiled, sang songs and energetically interacted with the mission team. At the second school visited the children were lethargic. They did not sing or smile. That night, John asked the tour leader what was wrong at the second school - was there some sort of problem with the teacher or the principal which made the children not want to interact with the missionaries? The tour leader said that the first and third schools had feeding programs in place so the children received a life-saving daily meal. Not so at the second school the team visited. These school children had no feeding program, no daily meal, no hope.

Trinity/HOPE began by instituting a feeding program in that school which in 1998 had 42 students. Trinity/HOPE now provides a daily meal for nearly 18,000 students, teachers and cooks in 91 schools throughout the country. Trinity/HOPE and the children it reaches have been blessed by God and through the generous sponsorships and donations of churches, civic groups, other organizations and individuals.
