Trinity/HOPE's Executive Director, John Hall, spoke to the approximately four hundred delegates at the Sierra Thrivent For Lutherans' Field Conference in San Francisco 8th. It was the third of these annual conferences which designated Trinity/HOPE as their conference charity this year. To date the attendees have given $69,240 and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match dollar for dollar. These funds will be used to feed the children in three schools for the next three years.

LCMS World Relief and Human Care recently granted Trinity/HOPE 2 grants of $25,000 each to help with relief efforts in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. We thank LCMS World Relief for their generosity and encourage you to visit their website for more information.

We will soon be able to calculate our cost for the year and project our cost and total we expect to feed in the coming year. Some schools will have increased in attendance and others will decrease because of population shifts due to the earthquakes. Our cost per meal really increased sharply as a result of increased food cost brought about by the earthquakes.
